Volunteers’ Week 2022 is finally here!
We’re really excited that Volunteers’ Week has begun. This year’s theme is a time to say thanks.
During an exceptionally difficult couple of years, volunteers have been the lifeblood of our communities. In their launch video, Sarah Vibert, NCVO Chief Executive, explains the value of volunteering and why it is important to take the time to say thanks.
We’ll be celebrating our volunteers and thanking them for giving their time to improve the lives of others – to be honest we couldn’t run our services without them!
Volunteers’ Week, runs from 1-7 June and is part of the #Month of Community, which spans the whole of June 2022. Our volunteers will be celebrating along with staff and supporters on 23 June at a Summer Social to mark the occasion.
Our volunteers continue to make a significant contribution despite the difficulties and challenges of the last two years: providing transport to essential medical appointments; shopping for vulnerable people, as well as collecting prescriptions; befriending visits to isolated people; and practical tasks such as gardening and small DIY projects.
Let’s use this week to thank all our wonderful volunteers and celebrate the great work that they do.
